In the year of Bollywood's big budget blockbusters comes Kareena Kapoor's bold announcement: "I could very well be married right now also and not have anyone know!"
The actress laughs off the shock value of the statement she makes, "my lips are sealed", as nonchalant Kareena was asked to confirm the big news. In conversation with Headlines Today managing editor Rahul Kanwal, Kareena was a mix bag of emotions as she was at her candid best.

"I have had my acceptance speech for this big film ever since I was six years old. As long as I can remember, all I have wanted to do was to act," Kareena says, adding, "acting is in my blood and I have given my all to Heroine."
Prodded a little further about the role she is playing in the movie, Kareena said, "I never realised that the film was so close to a superstar's life. The climax scenes were really intense and left an impact on my mind. Sensationalism toh hai, it's out and out commercial."
"Mahi, my character, is a bit deranged, aggressive, grey manipulative and fragile at the same time," she explains.
Asked if there were any similarities between her and the role Kareena is playing in Heroine, she said, "I am not entirely like Mahi. Iâm definitely not manipulative, but I am fragile - in the sense that I get hurt easily, I am high-strung and very emotional but not as much as Mahi is."

And how does she explain the bated breath with which the industry is waiting to see the film? "Well those who are guilty will of course make a big hue and cry. There is no smoke without fire," pat came her reply.
"I am not here to make friends. Iâm here to act and make sure my movies work. I donât let any competition to go away. It would really be boring if I did. I mean, it would only be Saif and I left," Kareena said.
Kareena became a brand the day she got into a size zero figure. The whole re-invention along with becoming more professional, focussed and career-oriented created the Kareena cult. Then came the relationship with Saif Ali Khan, she finally got comfortable in her own skin. Together they have given paparazzi many a reason to follow them, for the general public to speculate about their relationship status and the industry sleepless nights about her next move.

Even so, both Saif and Kareena would perhaps not be seen in any other film for a while, as Kareena says, "Saif doesn't like working with me. He says 'as I am a producer as well and then I have to look after you too on the sets, it's much easier to work with other heroines where all I need to do is worry about looking good on screen'."
The full interview of Kareena and Heroine director Madhur Bhandarkar could be seen on Friday at 9.30 pm on Headlines Today.
